A leadership search is underway at ɫ��APP�� for a Vice Chancellor of Human Health Sciences based on our Sacramento campus. This role and the CEO role were previously held by David Lubarsky, who retired from the university in February.

University of California, Davis, Chancellor Gary S. May has made three ɫ��APP�� Health leadership appointments: Michael Condrin as the interim chief executive officer, Bruce Lee Hall as interim vice chancellor of human health sciences, and Susan Murin as permanent dean of the School of Medicine.

ɫ��APP�� Health Vice Chancellor and CEO David Lubarsky to Retire

University of California, Davis, Chancellor Gary S. May announced today that David Lubarsky, ɫ��APP�� Health’s vice chancellor of human health sciences and chief executive officer, will retire from the university effective Feb. 15, 2025. After his retirement, Lubarsky will become president and CEO of Westchester Medical Center Health Network, a nine-hospital health system near where he grew up, in Valhalla, New York.

ɫ��APP�� Chancellor Gary S. May has appointed David A. Lubarsky to the position of vice chancellor of human health sciences and chief executive officer of ɫ��APP�� Health, which includes the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, ɫ��APP�� Medical Center, and Primary Care Network. Lubarsky is the chief medical and systems integration officer with the University of Miami Health System, a position he has held since 2012.

ɫ��APP�� Health Seeks 2 Leaders: VC and Dean

In the coming weeks, ɫ��APP�� will launch a search for the next vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences. When this search concludes successfully, a subsequent search will begin for a new dean of the School of Medicine.

The decision to proceed with sequential searches for the vice chancellor and then dean came after significant discussion with ɫ��APP�� Health faculty and staff regarding whether to fill the vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences and dean of the School of Medicine with one person or whether to hire two leaders to fill the two roles.
