Community members are invited to É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ for a public discussion forum with new University of California President Robert Dynes on May 27.
Dynes, a first-generation college graduate who went on to become a distinguished physicist and the chancellor of UC San Diego, became president of the 10-campus University of California system on Oct. 2, 2003. In his first year in the position, the president plans to visit every campus.
This will be his first visit to the É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ campus as president.
Dynes will spend two days touring the Davis campus and the health-system campus in Sacramento. He will talk with É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ administrators, faculty members, staff members, students and community leaders. He will lunch with the É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ Foundation Board and attend the gala dinner for the recipient of the É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement.
The public is invited to the "Dialogue With the President" on Thursday, May 27, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Jackson Hall of the Mondavi Center. For a half hour, representatives of the California Aggie newspaper editorial board will interview Dynes. For the next half hour, audience members will be able to ask him questions.
Those attending the dialogue are invited to stay for music and dance performances by É«ÇéAPPµ¼º½ students and faculty members. The performance program ends at 3:15 p.m.
